Frequently asked questions

If you have a question that hasn’t been answered please contact us.

What happens in a consultation?

We preform a consultation for every client at every appointment regardless if you have been before.

A consult ensures both the technician and client know what the goals and expectations are.

Everything comes in to play when planing how to achieve said goals. Such as bone structure, skin type, skin tone, hair colour, hair type, skin characteristics, life style, skin care products etc

Everyone varies when it comes to the above so everyone’s brows will vary. Each set of brows are different from the next so a consultation is crucial.

What is mapping & measuring and why is it important?

We map and measure the brows and create a template as a guide for what we are about to do.

Again each set of brows are different from the next so it’s important to do this. It also allows us to show you what our vision is and make sure we are both on the same page before going ahead

This is all based off your bone structure, facial features and goals.

Mapping and measuring each appointment also ensures we only remove what’s needed.

3

Can I use active skin care? If not why?

Unfortunately active skin care, skin medications and exfoliating  treatments paired with waxing is not advised.

This includes but is not limited to: Vit A, Retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, Peels, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling/SkinPen, Accutane, Oratane, Roaccutane, etc.

Using these then waxing will compromise your skin and can cause adverse reactions such as skin lift which is very unpleasant. So a tweezing only treatment is carried out instead.

4

Why can’t I fake tan before my appointment?

We advise against using tanning products on the face leading up to your appointment.

Having tan present in and around the brows can cause an adverse reaction with colouring methods. This can lead to patchy & uneven staining, brows darker than desired and/or funky colour outcomes.

Please avoid tanning as unfortunately if you do and we carry out the treatment and an adverse reaction occurs with the colour there is very little we can do to reverse it.

Please tan after your brow appointment.

5

I went somewhere else and don’t like what the did, can you fix them?

Depending on what has happened there may be something we can do so please email us exactly what has happened and what you are wanting to achieve! Our email is Tulsa.tosco@gmail.com

However in most cases you will need to wait at least 4 weeks to grow them out before we can truely make a difference and help.

If you would like guidance on how to style them in the meantime please contact us and we can arrange a time for you to come in and have a little tutorial.

6

I had my brows tattooed by someone else, can I get them touched up by you?

Unfortunately in most cases I do not rework another artists work and this is for many reasons.

When there is existing work I am restricted to what I can do and create.

You can book in for a consultation if you have questions and then I can better assess your brows and what I would advise.

Please keep in mind that laser is usually needed before I would consider going over someone else’s work. The team at Sacred Laser are awesome and I highly recommend them

7

I had my lashes done elsewhere but the look a bit crazy, can you help?

Yes we can help! By performing a treatment where it relaxes the lashes and conditions them.

Please keep in mind this will not re curl/lift your lashes. This will just help revert them back to what they were prior to the lil mishap.

We then recommend giving them a break for a few weeks before doing another lift.

Depending on the health of your lashes we recommend at least a months wait along with using a serum like Revitalash to help the integrity of your lashes.

8

I’m getting married and what to get my Brows & Lashes done what do you recommend?

Firstly congratulations how exciting!

Secondly it’s super important to do a trial before your actual wedding treatment. This is so we can talk about what you want to achieve and how to get there as well as tweak anything if needed.

I recommend you get your first appointment at least 4 months prior incase we need to work towards growing your brows out to help balance them or reshape them

9

My young teen is showing an interest in their brows what should I do?

I have had many teens get their brows done by me. I always say as soon as they show an interest in wanting to do their brows let them but take them to a professional.

It is better to do this then tell them no and they take to the tweezers themselves and butcher their brows.

Most the time with young teen clients I will keep them as full as possible but tidy the shape up ensuring they look natural but clean.

As always a full consultation is done at the beginning to talk through everything.

10

Why do I get bumps/pimples after being waxed?

Not everyone does but if you do it can be caused by a few things:

—Touching the waxed area. You want to avoid touching the area and/or applying anything for 24hrs if possible to prevent bacteria transferring.

—Folliculitis. This is a condition where the hair follicles become inflamed which can be triggered by waxing.

—Working out afterwards. Avoid exercise immediately after as sweating can introduce bacteria to the area
